A WOMANS VIEW ON ED

Erectile dysfunction is a frustrating experience. Both for the man, and his partner. She may be confused, angry, or hurt, not quite understanding why her attempts to draw close are being ignored or even repelled.

Even if he explains, in an understanding manner, the cause of the problem, she may still feel a need for someone to speak with. A trained counselor, a friend, a loved one.

And while this may be of help, sometimes there is a greater need.

A need to share with someone who is experiencing the same problems that she faces, the same distress, someone who will understand. An address that can provide emotional support for women.

Fortunately, such a place exists. It is a group dedicated to providing this much needed support for women. A place where she can express, share and listen to a womans view on ED.

The place is called "supportEDpartners" - Support for partners of men with ED. It is a forum comprised of some 900 members, that began on the internet as part of Yahoo! Groups back in May of 2000.

To better understand the forum's goals and purpose, I will share with you their introductory description:

sEDp - Women Helping Women

supportEDpartners, is a moderated, support/discussion group for the partners of men experiencing erectile dysfunction.

Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, membership is by approval of the moderators with the intent of maintaining privacy and limiting off topic discussion. Blatantly sexual, sexually suggestive, or commercial sounding IDs and profiles will NOT be approved for membership.

Impotence, or Erectile Dysfunction is a condition affecting millions of men and their sexual partners worldwide. Many treatments are available, however, our group does not deal with "technical" matters. We are primarily an emotional support group, and our orientation is to provide positive support/advice rather than maintain the status quo.

This site is intended as a safe haven for all our members to freely express the issues that affect them. Please be advised that some discussions may be graphic in nature.

While everyone whose life is affected by ED is welcome in supportEDpartners, our group is comprised mostly of women and discussion tends to focus on the issues women have regarding the condition and how it affects their relationships.

And yes, we are the group that you read about in the March 2003 edition of First For Women Magazine! Please support our website. As always, we recommend that all our members seek the advice of a qualified medical professional before embarking on ANY treatment.
